The history of Dhokra art form dates back to 5000 years ago. Practiced by tribal people of Dhokra Damar tribe, Dhokra Handicraft is reckoned for its fine detail artwork. Creation of subtle design on copper and bronze alloy metals by utilizing a special type of wax casting technique is the specialty of this artwork. As part of this Dhokra Handicraft making process, clay is used to prepare base structure of any figurine. Created clay model is sundried and is coated with wax prior to treating it with molten metal.
